January 27

Religion:   Next week is Catholic Schools Week! Our theme for the week is "Celebrating with Gratitude." Please refer to the email from Mrs. Hade for all of the fun activities the students will participate in next week.
Writing: We are continuing to work on our fiction unit. Next week we will study an author and his writing process. Our grammar lesson will be on subject verb agreement.
Math:   Unit Six continues next week. The students will be reviewing and learning a lot of vocabulary pertaining to geometry. Some of the main concepts will be polygons, angles, lines and line segments, rays and turns.
Spelling: Week Sixteen - sounds of oo (took & moon) / verb endings. The spelling section of the website contains all of the weekly lists and the choice words in case your child misplaces their words.  You can also find a copy of LSCW if you need it.
Science/SS: Students will be working on their Invention posters this week. A reminder that the PLANNING SHEET is due on Monday, January 30. We hope to see you at our Invention Convention on Friday, February 3 from 12:15-1:00!

Comprehension: We are continuing to work on wondering and questioning. The third graders will listen to narrative texts and practice sharing their thoughts with one another. We will continue to meet with students in groups as well as individual conferences.
