Religion: The Holy Trinity will be our focus next week. The students will be asked to give an analogy of the Trinity using something from their everyday lives. After conferences we will use the Bible to learn more about the role of angels.
Writing: We will be concluding our fiction unit next week. Each child will create a final draft and share it with the class. Our grammar lesson will be on adjectives.
Math: Unit Six continues next week. The students will be focusing on angles, measuring angles and symmetry. After conferences we will continue with lines of symmetry and explore polyhedrons. The test will be on Tuesday, February 28.
Spelling: Week Eighteen - sounds of au & aw / Comparative endings (-er, -est, -most). The spelling section of the website contains all of the weekly lists and the choice words in case your child misplaces their words. You can also find a copy of LSCW if you need it.
Science/SS: INVENTORS UNIT - Students will start learning about and researching specific inventors who helped to change our world through his/her invention(s). Students will begin work on creating a script to be recorded about their inventor and his/her famous invention. Students will create an "Inventor Brochure" and we will use the iPads to learn about all the inventors using QR codes.
Comprehension: We are going to start a unit on nonfiction text features after conferences. We will continue to meet with students in groups as well as individual conferences.
