February 24

Religion:   Our Lenten season will begin next week with Ash Wednesday. The students will be focusing on Lent and all of the special days of that season. They will be using the Bible to learn more about Jesus' life during the time before he died for us.
Writing: We will be concluding our fiction unit next week. Each child will create a final draft and share it with the class. Our grammar lesson will be on adjectives.
Math:   Unit Six will wrap up next week with the test on Tuesday, February 28. Our next unit will focus on multiplication and division. When this unit is complete the students will be expected to start memorizing their basic multiplication and division facts. The expectation is that they have these down by the end of the year.
Spelling: Week Nineteen - vowel digraphs (ou, ow, oi, oo, oa, ea, ee, ai, ay, au)/ Compound Words (rainbow). The spelling section of the website contains all of the weekly lists and the choice words in case your child misplaces their words.  You can also find a copy of LSCW if you need it.
Science/SS: SPACE & MOON UNIT - Students will start learning about the Solar System and research a specific planet.
Comprehension: We are going to start a unit on nonfiction text features after conferences. We will continue to meet with students in groups as well as individual conferences.
