February 3

Religion:   Next week we will be focusing on the Parts of the Mass. The students will have to know the difference between the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Also, we will start learning more about the Holy Trinity.
Writing: We are continuing to work on our fiction unit. Next week we will work on creating a strong ending to our piece. Our grammar lesson will be a review on verbs.
Math:   Unit Six continues next week. The students will be focusing on triangles, quadrangles and other polygons. They will be playing a couple of games in class to help them review the vocabulary.
Spelling: Week Sixteen - sounds of ew & ue (new & blue) / verb endings. The spelling section of the website contains all of the weekly lists and the choice words in case your child misplaces their words.  You can also find a copy of LSCW if you need it.
Science/SS: INVENTORS UNIT - Students will start learning about and researching specific inventors who helped to change our world through his/her invention(s).

Comprehension: We are continuing to work on wondering and questioning. The third graders will listen to narrative texts and practice sharing their thoughts with one another. We will continue to meet with students in groups as well as individual conferences.
