March 3

Religion:   Our Lenten season continues next week. We will be having prayer services throughout the season. The first one will be on Monday, March 6 at 8:45. The third graders will focus on the Stations of the Cross during the next few weeks.
Writing: We are researching various authors in third grade. The students have used books and Chromebooks to learn all about a famous author. They will be constructing a three paragraph piece to show what they have learned. Our grammar lesson will be on adverbs.
Math:   Unit Seven continues next week. The third graders will focus on the multiplication/division chart, basic facts and using parentheses correctly in number sentences. When this unit is complete the students will be expected to start memorizing their basic multiplication and division facts. The expectation is that they have these down by the end of the year.
Spelling: Week Twenty - Contractions/ Sounds of a & al (in water and walk). The spelling section of the website contains all of the weekly lists and the choice words in case your child misplaces their words.  You can also find a copy of LSCW if you need it.
Science/SS: SPACE & MOON UNIT - Students will start learning information about Earth's closest neighbor - the moon!
Comprehension: We are starting to work on Reader's Theater. Each student will be assigned a part to practice. The goal is to make our reading sound like our talking.
