May 5

Religion:   Next week we will focus on the gift of grace. Third graders will read about this wonderful gift and then they will complete an activity to help them understand its meaning.
Writing: Next week we will finish our poetry unit. The students have enjoyed exploring the freedom of expression with these lessons. Our grammar lesson will be on Reviewing our last four lessons.
Math:   Unit Nine continues next week with multiplication and division. The students will be exploring arrays, equilateral triangles and strength of paper. They will also learn a form of partial products multiplication using a "bow-tie." These multiplication strategies will probably be new to most families, so please use the Everyday Math website to see how these strategies work if needed.
Spelling: Week 28 - Sounds of the Syllable a in across /Affixes. The spelling section of the website contains all of the weekly lists and the choice words in case your child misplaces their words.  You can also find a copy of LSCW if you need it.
Science/SS: Rain Forest Unit - Rain forest animal research continues and students will start putting information onto a Research File Folder to present to class. Be looking for a Research Notes Sheet to come home for editing this weekend!
