Religion: The students have been assigned a saint to research. They went to the computer lab to find a picture of their saint and start research this week. On Monday they will continue their research. Tuesday they will complete their google slide. They will be able to work on the slide at home using their email address to access their drive. The final project will be due next Friday.
Writing: Grammar Lesson - Common and Proper NounsNext week the third graders will begin a unit on Personal Narratives. We will be listening to many examples of personal narratives, and we will then write about some of our own special memories.
Math: Our third unit continues next week with measurement. The students will focus on measuring with a ruler, standard linear measures and perimeter. There is a lot of vocabulary in this unit for your child to recall.
Spelling: Week 7 Long I (Cie, Cy, CCy, igh) & Final Consonant Digraphs ck, ng, nk
The spelling section of the website contains all of the weekly lists and the choice words in case your child misplaces their words. You can also find a copy of LSCW if you need it.
Science/SS: Students will review matter content and test will be on Thursday, November 2. They will do a fun activity on Friday to wrap up the unit!
Comprehension: We will continue to work on visualizing next week. We will read the book The Spooky Tail of Prewitt Peacock and discuss the pictures that we created in our minds. Then we will notice and write down words that helped us visualize in our own reading books.
